El Buen Samaritano invites you to participate in our annual Hands for Hope: Food Equity and Access Campaign – raising awareness about hunger in Central Texas and supporting our year-round food access services, including our flagship H4H holiday meal distribution events in November and December.

El Buen’s Hands for Hope (H4H) Campaign sparks a vision of love, equity, and community. Serving as our main point of entry to our wider network of care and support, El Buen’s Food Access programs provide pathways to opportunity that help children, parents, and entire families grow, thrive, and build stronger, healthier communities. By meeting the immediate need for food, our pantry services open the door to education, employment, and health programs that foster lasting change.
Food is the bridge to care and community. Access to food ensures that families and young people are empowered to grow, thrive, and build brighter futures within a loving community.
At El Buen, we believe that food is the fuel that powers families toward health and success. With every meal, families gain the energy and confidence to take their next steps forward. El Buen’s comprehensive Food Access programs serve individuals and families across Central Texas. To expand access to healthy and nutritious food, El Buen’s initiatives include:
- Expanded food access for 30,000 individuals throughout the year via our year-round drive-through, mobile food pantry initiatives, and home-delivery food pantry initiatives.
- Assistance to access public services such as SNAP, WIC, Medicaid and other public assistance programs.
- Our H4H flagship events in November and December which provide full holiday meal kits to more than 1,500 families in Central Texas.
- Our H4H Gift Card Distribution Project, El Buen’s collaboration with more than 20 nonprofit agencies to distribute 1,500 H-E-B gift cards for individuals and families across Central Texas.
- Wraparound services – addressing individuals’ and families health and wellbeing to ensure access to additional social and health resources.
